CABIN RUG

I am finally finished with my brother and his wife's Cabin Rug. Gary and Chris were married in Hubbarton, Vermont on November 23, 2007. This is their wedding rug. I was not at the wedding but they also purchased a cabin by a lake in Vermont where they spend their every weekend. During the winter they ski every weekend and during off season they spend it at the lake swimming and just enjoying Vermont. They absolutely love it there. They sent me a picture of their cabin and this is the side of the cabin. I asked my good friend Debbie, Woolensails, to draw the picture for me onto linen. She does amazing patterns and drew this up for me. I asked her to add the trees and the moose. Everything else was exactly the way the cabin looks. Thank you Debbie for a fantastic job! I did all the dyeing of the wools in this rug except for the sky which I purchased wool from Norma Batastini becuase when I saw it I knew it was exactly what I wanted and I think it turned out perfect. I am so anxious to give them their rug when I see them.

I have much more to share with you but it will have to wait until the next post. I am so busy right now with so many projects. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the weather and doing something that you enjoy as much as I enjoy hooking! Do what makes you smile and what makes you happy inside. Blessings to all my dear friends and be sure to think a good thought! Until next time..............Cyndi

Carpet Bag

Well this will be a quick post this week. The Lott Kids will probably be next week, as I'm gathering pictures for that but wanted to show you my carpet bag as far as I've gotten. This is one side almost done. I still have the other side to do. I dyed all the wool for this and love how it's coming out. Of course the second side won't be as much fun becuase it will be like hooking a second rug! I never like to do two rugs of the same thing and then there is the finishing work and that seems to be done all by hand which is fine by me. I hate sewing machines or rather they hate me!!! Have a great week everyone and blessings all my friends................Cyndi

Here I Am Again......

Well Here I am again. It's now April. Don't ask me. Don't even ask. For some reason as much as I try to do this every Friday life is getting in the way..........big time. I won't even start to tell you what's been in the way but rest assured life has gotten in the way in a big way so I just wasn't able to get here. Now here I am and I really am going to try very hard to keep a blog. When someone gives me an award it's so nice but I really decided I think I deserve the "worst blogger" award!! Are you listening Ginger??? LOL..... Finding the time to blog is horrible. So....since I'm back and I think I posted twice this past year or something crazy It's time to meet Greg and I so we'll start there. In the near future you'll meet the Lott kids and then the extended family of brothers and their wives and my parents.

I always love to put a face to the people I'm talking to and so I thought it would be nice to introduce you to at least myself and my husband Greg. So here we are on our wedding day on April 16, 2005

Pastor vonFrisch was my pastor at Schwarzwald Lutheran Church for many years and he had just left to go to another church. I was so devastated. I had become very close to him during counseling when my ex left me after 25 years of marriage. He was the first person to meet Greg and we wanted him to marry us but he would not be able to marry us in my church becuase he was no longer the pastor there. There was just an interim pastor there that did not know Greg or I. He drove 1 hour each way to come to my maid of honor's home to marry us there. It was a beautiful day and we only had about 21 guests. It was very small and intimate and just the perfect day. Greg wore a tux and I wore an off white longish dress and it coudln't have been more perfect for us. The main thing we wanted more than anything was for Pastor vonFrisch to marry us and he did that and even wore his vestments to do so.

In my rug life I am working on Karen Kahle's Carpet Bag. I just love that bag and I'm about 1/3 done. It looks great. I'm very happy with it and when it's finished and all done up I'll show you here. You'll all be the first to know. Well until next time have a very blessed Easter and next installment is the Lott kids..... and for people that don't know me.... they all have 4 legs!!! Have a great week....blessings Cyndi
